Why is it that even when we know we’ve had enough, we keep eating?

brain-on-food-1Why is it that reason & logic don’t persuade us or hold us to a sensible moderate relationship to food? Why is it that we override or ignore our signals to stop eating when we are aware of them … or worse still, we can’t even detect the signals and feel sure that we just aren’t satisfied yet. That more is necessary or something else is needed to achieve the satiety we are searching for.

It’s a humiliating dance of self deception – pretending not to see, not to notice, not to be concerned about our excessive consumption. It’s fraught with sadness & defeat …and yet we perpetuate the habit over & over & over at every meal or every eating incident. Certain that if we can just finally find the thing or the magical volume that will fulfill us, then we can stop and feel complete.

We are wired to find food & eat it for survival.  But in a world of plenty beset by denatured drug food, our biochemistry has gone haywire. Calming the nervous system enough to eat enough … and only enough … when our body truly needs it, is possible. Why struggle unnecessarily? Why struggle so inevitably and endlessly? Find out how to have an easy enduring freedom around food. Why Wait?

Awesome Wai Weight blogs Veti ….I really admire your many talents my darling gal!

I am floating along in the Southern Barrier Reef, gradually unwinding and starting to think more clearly. Lots of reading, sleeping, walking, eating super healthy and gazing into nature. I am also taking my Usana – yippee.

Mikes had lotsa folks on ‘Isabella’ – bit too much static for me but all will be quiet for the next couple of weeks – phew!

I don’t think we/I will make it to Waiheke this summer 😩 but will definitely get there next.

I’ve changed digital providers and lost my ‘112 minutes of OS talk and text’ so I would like to Skype soon.

Love ya! A big tomato squeeze to the Irish lad. Love his posts on face space 🙄
