Fat is Your Friend

Love it, Hug it, Sing Hallelujah! FAT really is you friend.

curvatiousWell maybe you don’t want to be quite so curvaceous! However, if you can get over the stigma of being a ‘generous’ size, you would probably find that having a little bit more padding than a skewed ideal of ‘less than 10% body fat’ means you are less stressed & easily happier. A jolly wench rather than a miserable waif.   Why? Because fat forms your brain, fat buffers your nerves, fat cushions your organs, fat stores & manufactures vital nutrients; fat ensures you’ll survive. Fat per se, the way nature intended it, really is your friend.

But maybe being burdened with excess adipose tissue still isn’t what you want – fine. Actually, you don’t need a lot of internal or subcutaneous fat to enjoy the health benefits of fat. You just don’t want to strive to be gaunt – bone thin doesn’t bring out you inner smile.

Enjoy being the right weight and beamingly healthy whilst you get there Why Wait?

Hate Dieting?

Hate dieting??  I do!

Discipline

Why?  Well, try deprivation … rigidity … predefined … predetermined … dos & don’ts … too different  … too dreary … tedious … demeaning  … demoralising … moral judgement … moronic

Shame the reaction is so strong! It’s just a word … and the truth is DIET is NOT a dirty word. Diet is whatever you eat: the aborigines had an indigenous diet; urban humans have a very different diet.

WHATEVER you eat IS YOUR Diet.  You are already on a diet!

The QUESTION IS: Is it working for you?     Why not make it work for you?

Why not let it support you to have the health or the weight or the pleasure that YOU desire. Otherwise continue to get less-than-desirable outcomes from an unconscious & unhelpful diet. Rethink, revise, re-write instead ….

  • Put the Delicious back into Diet …  take the Drama Out!
  • Put the ‘I’ back into Diet – individualised & intimate
  • Put the Eating back into Diet -YES that old ESSENTIAL- Eat or Die
  • Put the Time back into Diet … put Time back into Yourself

Make Food, Eating and Feeling Good matter. Why Wait?

What’s The Point?

What’s the Point? What’s the point of losing weight ... of being your right shape … of being slender & lean? What’s the purpose? To fit your skinny jeans, to parade that little black dress, to wear what you want when you want? Sure, that’s fun – no denying the ego-boost – but is that really ‘the point’?

Perhaps it’s to not be sick, ashamed or depressed anymore? Mmm, that’s definitely desirable, too. Chronic lethargy and lingering sickness & self loathing sucks – not much of a life feeling lousy. But, further than that, we have to ask   “Why does extra weight & overeating make us ashamed and depressed?”

Instead we ask, “Why can’t I just live a fulfilled and peaceful life at any weight?” Well, you can … if you can!  But most people can’t. Most people are miserable; mistrusting and disappointed in themselves because numbing themselves with food means they’re not showing up to life … for life.

As with any addiction or debilitating habit, overloading yourself with overeating is an ‘easy out’ of engagement in other pursuits. Not living your best life, denying yourself a ‘sorted’ stimulating satisfying life, avoiding your potential … feels rotten. Food fixation, eating trauma & excess weight is a barrier to being present and contributing your gifts, talents, energy and attention to life.  That is the purpose of losing weight and finding a way of peace with food and with your body. To be more fully who you can be … could be … are meant to be. Don’t let past patterns determine your present experience or your future life: find a way that works. That is the point. Why Wait?
